I've been meaning to do some baby stuff "hunting" for awhile, but it's not really Geof's thing... so I needed to find a day when I could go into the city on my own (read: he wouldn't need the car) so that he wouldn't get dragged to all these little stops while I bargain hunt.
I love to bargain hunt!
I made a few other stops on the way to Once Upon A Child... ToysRUs for a changing table pad (and I think I found our crib!), the mall for a new candle at Yankee Candle (only to find out they sent coupons recently, so I'll wait to get that before purchasing), and then to the wonderland that is OUAC.
I found...
A Nojo Sling (

List price: $36.95.... OUAC:
$7.50
A Snugli front carrier (close to
this)
List price: $19.99.... OUAC:
$12.50
Goodnight Moon board book (

List price: $7.99.... OUAC:
$1.00
Small Diaper Bag with changing pad... similar bags at Target for about $10.00
OUAC:
$4.50
Snowsuit... size 0-9 months from JC Penney - still had the store tags on (with price torn off) - it's really neat because it can be a regular snow suit (with snap on booties and fingerless mits) or the legs can be re-zipped to make it a bag rather than legs... and it seems really thick - good for South Dakota winters!
OUAC:
$18.00 (I can't find anything for babies on JCP's website - but kids' start at about $35)
(And that bouncer I bought in Chicago... regular price $39.99 - OUAC
$20.00)
Have you been doing the math? Including my estimating, that's
$86.42 off the retail price for things that have been gently used. And I don't compromise quality - I check to make sure it's still in great condition before purchasing.
So if you have kids - or are planning on a new arrival soon, you HAVE to check this place out! They have clothes and toys that go up to about 6 year olds at most stores, not to mention books for adults to read about parenting, and bigger furniture, too (cribs, gliders, play yards, etc.).
