Today (16th) Robert learned how to clap unassisted. It's so cute! I've been trying for a few days to teach him by taking his lower arms in my hands and "making" him clap, but he's been doing it all day today on his own! Now any time you want him to clap, you just smile and say "YAAAAAAAAAAAY!"

I'm also trying to teach him to hold his arms straight up over his head when he wants me to pick him up (and repeat "Up?" over and over)... rather than whining/crying and throwing a verticle tantrum. He has been getting the hang of it unless he's really tired, though it's usually just one arm for now since he still holds on to my leg or the chair.

But I think he thinks that he's training me. When I tried it this evening, I stuck my arms over my head and said, "Up?" He smiled and started clapping =)
